This day in history: The Wright Brothers make the first flight in a “powered, heavier-than-air machine” at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The first ever flight, piloted by Orville, lasts 12 seconds for a total distance of 120 ft (36.5 m).  Three more flights were made that same day. December 17, 1903 - 108 years ago today.
